2006 Ovation Wins Double-Gold and Best-of-Show Nomination
[Oakville, Napa Valley] PerryMoore wines (http://www.perrymoore.com/) earned a total of six medals in three wine competitions including a double-gold and best-of-show nomination for its 2006 Ovation Napa Valley.
The 2006 Ovation earned its double-honors at the 2009 Hilton Head Wine Competition. It also earned a silver medal at the Dallas Morning News Wine Competition and a bronze at the National Women's Wine Competition.
PerryMoore's 2006 Stagecoach Vineyard earned three silver medals. It's first coming at the 2009 Dallas Morning News Wine Competition, a second at the Hilton Head Wine Competition and a third at the National Women's Wine Competition in Santa Rosa, CA. Stagecoach wines are made from grapes grown at the fabled Pritchard Hill Vineyard in Napa Valley. PerryMoore wines are regularly made from grapes grown in some of the world's most well known and prestigious vineyards, producing wine with unique and highly sought-after characteristics.
The lightly marketed wines are little known outside of California's “wine cognoscenti.” Those who do know them value PerryMoore wines for the attention to detail and passion for quality that have become the hallmark of the boutique winery. PerryMoore wines are made by Master Winemaker Kian Tavakoli who worked at Opus One and Clos Du Val before moving to PerryMoore.
“This was one of our first efforts in blind tasting competition against some of our peers,” said PerryMoore co-founder Mickey Moore. “Our goal has consistently been to produce a 99-point wine. This takes not just people, it takes the right people. It requires passion, talent and experience. The results speak for themselves.” Moore co-founded PerryMoore with friends Ryan Perry and Tom Henderson. The three share a passion for making world-class wines and have spared virtually no expense in pursuit of this goal.
“It's a labor of love,” says Ryan Perry. “We love the business. We love the challenge and most of all we love great wine. It's clearly not about quantity but rather high quality. That's what has kept us going and will continue to do so.”
PerryMoore wines are available in select retail shops and restaurants. Its wines can be directly purchased from the company's website: http://www.perrymoore.com/. Its 2006 releases are available now.
