Think Tank Wine Company Launches
March 2, 2009
March 2, 2009 - San Francisco, CA and Basking Ridge, NJ - Think Tank ® Wine Company, founded to create world class single-vineyard wines that promote environmental stewardship, announces the release of its inaugural wine, 2007 La Encantada Pinot Noir. The wine is available for purchase on the winery's website, http://www.thinktankwine.com/, for $60.
According to Founder & CEO, Michael Giarraputo, "Think Tank was born of the idea that producing world class wine should give back to the environment, not take from it. From vineyard to winemaking to bottling, Think Tank seeks to serve as a steward of our environment. Our grapes are 100% organically grown and sourced from some of California's best sustainably farmed vineyards - La Encantada is especially fitting for our inaugural wine given that it was the first organic site in Santa Barbara County. Our packaging features the very latest eco-friendly materials, including recycled, lighter-weight glass bottles, tree-free bamboo labels, natural corks without capsules."
To underscore its commitment to corporate responsibility, a portion of the profits from the sale of the wines will be donated to Ecology Action, an education-based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization promoting the use of Biointensive farming practices in the United States and around the World.
Giarraputo, a marketing professional for 25 years, founded the company in 2007 after making medal winning amateur wines for five years. Think Tank will release a second wine, a 2007 Syrah from the highly regarded White Hawk Vineyard, which will become available in October 2009 for $45.
